how The implant is a set of electrodes that are attached to individual nerve fibers, which send a signal directly to the legs, allowing one to walk, climb stairs, and hold his balance, but only when the implant is turned on. In fact, the implant acts as a bridge between the brain and the legs; the patient did not have this “bridge” at all after the accident.
