Who: Teona  and Carl Bate.

The Idea: Justine Bate,  from Manchester, made the masks to help herself and her daughter, Teona, 10, as they are both deaf.

How: Justine Bate originally made the masks, which feature a plastic window over the mouth, to help understand the deaf people.

Sales: They sold 42 on the morning of May 27 for £5.99 each, including postage and packaging.
